Compulsory
Basic
Training

Gear In The Six Gears of
Road Motorcycling)
All learner
motorcycle and learner moped riders must complete a compulsory basic training (CBT)
course before riding on the road.
Only instructors certified
by the Driving Standards Agency can teach CBT at an approved training body (ATB)
such as Adventure On Wheels Ltd.
ATBs must have instructors
who have successfully completed a two day assessment and have sites approved by
DSA for off-road training, our
yard at our head office in Melrose is such a site.
The contents of the
table below are designed to give you a more flexible choice in how to
obtain your CBT. Please study the highlighted points within the
Course Description column to find out which program would best

CBT 1 Day
Compulsory
Basic Training
All the five elements of the CBT program are covered
in one day.
We recommend this one day course if you are re-sitting your CBT or
very experienced in motorcycle/road craft or only wanting a moped/scooter
certificate

Be over 16 years of age if wishing to only using a moped
or scooter
Be over 17 years of age if wishing to drive a motorcycle
powered up to 125cc
Hold a valid provisional driving (Category A) licence
Pre-CBT certificate (note; this is
not a legal requirement but represents a good entry level)

One day - Up to 8 hours depending on level of entry and
ability to learn. Note: A minimum 2 hours road work is
included within the day's training |

£POA for one day, (up
to 8 hours) Any additional

Bikes, clothing etc available for anyone without their own

We HIGHLY recommend
this two day course if you have little or no experience in motorcycle/road
