 | Day one is an 70 mile round trip introduction to a big bike and how to ride on open
(Border) roads. |
 | Days two and three (possibly more, depending on individual progress)
will see us ride up to the Musselburgh "multi purpose test
centre" MPTCs (approximately 80 miles round trip each day) for a private hire and give you one to one private instruction on
what to expect when doing your "Module 1" test. This will
involve getting you up to speed on a "Big Bike" with u-turns, emergency
stops, slow and high speed manoeuvres etc. |
 | Any subsequent training days will be followed with a
"Module 1" test ride to Musselburgh |
 | Immediately after passing your "Module 1 test " we
concentrate on
attaining Module 2. |
 | During your Mod 2 training we become familiar (but not complacent) with the DSA test routs
thorough out Galashiels and Musselburgh |

 | On the first day of your Mod 2 training we do the following
 | An eye site test, (on your test day the examiner will ask you to read
a registration plate at a distance of 20 meters) |
 | An introduction to our equipment |
 | Talk about the safety questions (hand-outs provided) that you will be
asked on the day of your test by your examiner |
 | Talk about the questions you will be asked on, carrying a load and
passenger (hand-outs provided) by your examiner on the day |
 | An explanation on what road riding and attitude skills will be
required from you |

 | An introduction to town riding on a big bike |
 | Your subsequent training days will be town and open road training
within central Borders (or Musselburgh depending on your requirements') |
 | We will train you to a high level of road craft on the following
skills
 | Defensive driving including the "information phase" "Planning" and of
course OSMPSL |
 | Smooth starts including angled |
 | Smooth stopping on the flat, steep up hill and
steep down hill |
 | Junctions including proper roundabout procedures |
 | Tight turns |
 | Slow speed control (traffic lights and lane discipline) |
 | High speed over taking procedures |

 | On "Module 2" test day we will give you a ninety minute warm up
before your test |
 | Mod 2 tests last around 40 minuets and are done within the Scottish
Borders or Musselburgh depending on customer requirements' |
