DAS Module 2: Direct Access Scheme

(Also A1 & A2 Licence)

 Motorcycle Pre Test Training based within the Scottish Borders and Musselburgh

Be over 21 years of age.

  1. Have completed and produce a valid DL196 (CBT certificate)

  2. Hold a valid UK Category "A" driving licence

  3. Have an In-date bike theory test certificate

  4. Hold an In-date "Module 1 " certificate

A Typical concentrated Module 2 training program

bulletOn the first day of your Mod 2 training we do the following
bulletCheck that you have all the valid appropriate documentation,  Driving licence, CBT certificate, Theory test certificate, Module 1 certificate etc.
bulletAn eye site test, (on your test day the examiner will ask you to read a registration plate at a distance of 20 meters)
bulletTalk about the safety questions (hand-outs provided) that you will be asked on the day of your test by your examiner
bulletTalk about the questions you will be asked on, carrying a load and passenger (hand-outs provided) by your examiner on the day
bulletAn introduction to our equipment
bulletAn explanation on what road riding and attitude skills will be required from you
bulletAn introduction to town riding on a big bike
bulletYour subsequent training days will be town and open road training within central Borders (or Musselburgh depending on your requirements')
bulletWe will train you to a high level of road craft on the following skills
bulletDefensive driving including the "information phase" "Planning" and of course OSMPSL
bulletSmooth starts including angled
bulletSmooth stopping on the flat, steep up hill and steep down hill
bulletJunctions including proper roundabout procedures
bulletTight turns
bulletSlow speed control (traffic lights and lane discipline)
bulletHigh speed over taking procedures
bulletOn "Module 2" test day we will give you a ninety minute warm up before your test
bulletMod 2 tests last around 40 minuets and are done within the Scottish Borders or Musselburgh depending on customer requirements'
